Fallen leaves rustle, as the cool winds of Autumn blow across the quieting fields. Jack-o lanterns are abound and the scent of sweet spiced goods heralds the coming of the encroaching winter. This is the season to dance through the colored leaves and to let the bonfires burn high.
"Pumpkin Harvest Incense" was designed to be a pleasant and fun casual incense. The hardest part of creating this incense blend was finding a proper resin base that would not be to overpowering and that would work well when mixing in the traditional pumpkin spices. I was delighted to find a New World resin that worked excellently as a replacement for pumpkin: golden "Incienso" from South America. Since dubbed "squash copal", the Incienso made for a nice mild, dry resinous base upon which to build in the various spice essential oils. Originally designed to be used upon hookah-style charcoal, the blend really produces the clearest aroma of resin and spice when heated in an electric incense burner or on a hotplate.
For those on the esoteric path, this blend could make a nice Autumn Equinox incense and may be of interests to those working with deities associated with the harvest. It could also be used as a devotional or "sweet treat" offering.
